According to Can Tho City People's Committee, the 2nd Can Tho River and Water Culture Festival in 2026 has the theme "Can Tho - River and Water Harmony Melody".
The festival takes place in 06 days, from December 30, 2026 to January 4, 2027, held in Ninh Kieu ward, Cai Khe ward and surrounding areas.
In the Rach Cai Khe area (Cai Khe ward), the opening art program was held at 8 pm (December 30) recreating the unique cultural picture of Can Tho City, where nature, people and river and water cultural values blend together, creating a unique identity.
Through synthetic art language combined with modern performance technology, the program honors the beauty of river culture, depicting the dynamic and creative image of Can Tho in a new development space, and at the same time contributing to promoting its position as a cultural and tourist center of the Mekong Delta (Mekong Delta).
According to the plan, the stage will be staged on a system of linked barges on the water surface, exploiting the characteristic river and water space of Can Tho; combining sound and lighting technology, modern art effects and natural landscape elements, creating a performance space imbued with the river and water identity, contributing to spreading the image of Can Tho to people, domestic and international tourists.
Immediately after the end of the opening art program, water music, drone light and fireworks (low-altitude) will take place to welcome in this area.
Next, at 8:00 PM on December 31, 2026, at Song Hau Park (Cai Khe ward), the Countdown program to welcome the New Year 2027 will take place.
Within the framework of the Festival, there are also activities: displaying agricultural tools and fishing gear in the Mekong Delta region and souvenir photo miniatures; experiencing the art of experiencing the Mekong Delta rivers and waters; Can Tho City Trade Fair 2026; sports - experience activities and other tourism activities.
