According to the plan of Da Nang City People's Committee, the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival will take place from May 30 to July 11 with the theme "Da Nang - United Horizons - Connecting Horizons", gathering 10 fireworks teams from 9 countries and territories.
The event is identified as an international-scale cultural and tourism event, contributing to stimulating tourism and services demand during the summer peak season.
This year, the festival has the participation of teams from Vietnam, China, Italy, Germany, Portugal, France, Japan, Macau (China) and Australia. Host Vietnam contributed two representatives, Da Nang team and Z121 Vina Pyrotech. The organizers said that there are 4 teams participating in DIFF for the first time.
According to the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2026 schedule, the opening night on May 30th is themed "Nature", which is a competition between Vietnam (Da Nang) and China teams.
The second competition night took place on June 6 with the theme "Heritage", between the French team and the Vietnamese team (Z121 Vina Pyrotech).
The night of June 13 has the theme "Culture", with performances from Japan and Italy. The night of June 20 has the theme "Creation", which is a competition between Germany and Macau (China). The night of June 27 has the theme "Vision", between Australia and Portugal.
The final night took place on the evening of July 11 with the theme "Da Nang - Connecting Horizons", gathering the two best teams to compete for the championship.
The organizers said that this year's themes are connected into a unified thread about Da Nang's development journey and the integration process with Quang Nam (old), exploiting values from nature, heritage, culture to creativity and development vision.
The highlight of DIFF 2026 is the mechanical arch stage, more than 40 m wide and over 10 m high, considered the largest mechanical structure ever to appear in the 18-year history of Da Nang fireworks festival.
The DIFF 2026 champion team will receive a prize worth 20,000 USD along with a cup and certificate. The runner-up team will receive 10,000 USD. In addition, the organizers also awarded sub-prizes including Favorite Team, Creative Award and Promising Award, each prize worth 5,000 USD.
This year's event is also for the first time included by Travel + Leisure in the list of 9 most worth experiencing festivals in the world 2026.
