According to current regulations, employees are entitled to 1 day off on the Hung Kings Commemoration Day (March 10th of the lunar calendar). In 2026, this day falls on the weekend, so compensatory leave is arranged on Monday (April 27), helping the total number of days off according to this holiday schedule to extend to 3 consecutive days (from April 25-27).
For the April 30 and May 1 holidays, these two days coincide with Thursday and Friday, combined with weekends forming 4 consecutive days off for unemployed workers on Saturday (April 30 - May 3).
Because the gap between the two holidays is only 2 working days, many businesses have proactively adjusted their holiday schedules to create conditions for workers to have longer days off. Accordingly, some units allow 9 consecutive days off and arrange to make up for work at appropriate times.

Long holidays according to the Hung Kings Commemoration holiday and April 30 - May 1 are considered a favorable time to return to the countryside to visit family or travel. Depending on conditions and preferences, tourists can choose many routes stretching across the three regions.
In the North, nearby destinations such as Ha Long Bay, Sa Pa or Ninh Binh are prioritized by many people thanks to convenient travel, diverse landscapes and pleasant climates, suitable for relaxation combined with exploration.
Meanwhile, the Central region enters the most beautiful season of the year with dry weather, blue sea and little rain, favorable for outdoor activities. Da Nang, Hoi An, Hue or Quang Tri are attractive choices.
In the South, stable weather conditions and a rich tourism ecosystem help tourists easily build long-day vacation plans. Phu Quoc and Con Dao are suitable for sea resorts, while Da Lat or the Mekong Delta rivers bring natural experiences, local culture and a relaxing rhythm of life.
