34 provinces and cities have finalized the Tet holiday schedule for students. The holiday time is quite long, commonly from mid-February and ending after the 6th day of the first lunar month.
The group of localities with the longest Tet holiday, up to about 14 days, includes An Giang, Ca Mau, Lao Cai, Lam Dong, Vinh Long and Quang Ninh. However, the start and end milestones are not completely the same, depending on the school year plan of each place.
In the opposite direction, the shortest Tet holiday schedule for students belongs to Hanoi, Hung Yen and some provinces only arrange 5 official days according to the regulated framework. However, if Saturdays are not organized, students can have a continuous holiday of about 9 days, equivalent to many other localities such as Bac Ninh, Hai Phong, Hue, Da Nang.
In some localities such as Cao Bang, Dong Thap, Lai Chau, schools proactively develop holiday schedules suitable to actual conditions, with requirements not lower than the minimum number of days as prescribed.
Most of the remaining provinces and cities choose the option of resting for about 10-11 days, usually from February 12th to the end of February 22nd (ie from December 25th to January 6th).

The Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026 holiday opens up opportunities for many families to arrange spring trips, return to their hometowns or organize domestic and international trips.
Destinations near urban centers, outdoor playgrounds, and spiritual tourism are forecast to increase sharply in number of visitors from before Tet to the end of the first week of the new year. Parents should proactively book train and bus tickets, and accommodation services early to avoid overload and price increases.
Besides the play plan, families also need to pay attention to reminding children to maintain a regular lifestyle, limit the use of too many electronic devices. At the same time, prepare the mindset to return to school immediately after the end of the Lunar New Year holiday.
