The Ministry of Home Affairs' proposal on the New Year holiday plan for 2026 has been officially approved, according to document No. 12729/VPCP-KGVX of the Government Office dated December 25.
Accordingly, the official New Year holiday schedule for civil servants and public employees lasts 4 consecutive days from January 1 (Thursday) to January 4 (Sunday).
Trade from Friday (January 2) to Saturday (January 10).
The Ministry of Home Affairs believes that arranging the exchange of normal working days and compensating for other days will help ensure that civil servants and public employees have a harmonious and complete holiday, while helping to stimulate tourism and social consumption, and promote economic growth.
Therefore, people can take advantage of the buffer vacation before the Lunar New Year to go out and relax.

Combined with 4 weekends, the total break lasts 9 days. The time to return to work is February 23, the 7th day of Tet.
Other holidays in 2026 are implemented according to current regulations of the Labor Code. In April alone, there are two consecutive holidays.
Specifically, the Hung Vuong Commemoration Day falls on the weekend of April 26, and workers will have a compensatory holiday on April 27, a total of 3 days.
Immediately after that is a 4-day 30.4-1.5 holiday, including 2 days off and 2 weekends, from Thursday to Sunday, from April 30 to May 3.
For the National Day holiday, workers will have a total of 5 days off, from August 29 to September 2. In which, there will be a day off on September 2 and one day at a time; at the same time, the working day of August 31 will be swapped to Saturday, August 22.
