According to the An Giang Provincial Department of Tourism, in the first 5 months of 2026, the province's tourism industry has transformed strongly, welcoming more than 13.3 million tourist arrivals, an increase of 12.1% over the same period, with total revenue of about 33,169 billion VND, reaching 53.2% and nearly 50% of the annual plan.
The highlight is that An Giang has attracted a large number of tourists through a series of holidays, experiencing diverse types of tourism such as sea and island tourism, ecotourism and garden experiences.
Along with that, Phu Quoc special zone with the mark of the strong return of international visitors with more than 1.17 million visitors, an increase of 51%, accounting for nearly 99% of the total number of international tourists to the whole province.
Also according to the An Giang Provincial Department of Tourism, the number of international visitors to Phu Quoc Pearl Island increased sharply due to the Phu Quoc International Airport being upgraded, increasing service capacity, with many direct routes from Korea, China, Singapore, Thailand.
Director of An Giang Provincial Department of Tourism Bui Quoc Thai emphasized that Phu Quoc is becoming a "leader" bringing An Giang's image to the world, helping the province improve its reputation and tourism competitiveness in the region.
At the same time, this is a stepping stone for the province to be ready for the APEC 2027 Summit in Phu Quoc, raising its regional position. This not only affirms Phu Quoc's position but also creates a spillover effect, enhancing the image and attractiveness for the entire An Giang tourism industry.

Not only in An Giang, according to a report by the Hanoi Department of Tourism on tourism development results in the first 5 months of 2026, it is estimated that the Capital will welcome about 14.98 million visitors, an increase of 17.2% compared to the same period in 2025.

According to Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Tran Trung Hieu, with good growth momentum right from the beginning of the year, the Capital's tourism industry is expected to exceed the plan set out at the beginning of the year, reaching 9.04 million international visitors, serving 27.27 million domestic visitors.
The scenario for welcoming visitors in 2026 in the Capital is as follows: Q2/2026 reaches 2.13 million international visitors and 6.83 million domestic tourists; Q3/2026 reaches 2 million international tourists and 7.5 million domestic tourists; Q4/2026 reaches 2.4 million international tourists and 6.4 million domestic tourists.
