This is a favorable foundation for developing sea tourism, high-class resorts and international cruise tourism.
In addition, the province has two national parks, Nui Chua National Park and Phuoc Binh National Park. Notably, Nui Chua National Park has been recognized by UNESCO as a World Biosphere Reserve, opening up opportunities for strong development of ecotourism, green tourism and unique natural experience products.
Mr. Nguyen Long Bien - Standing Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee - said that the province's tourism development strategy sets a goal to build Khanh Hoa into an international sea tourism service center by 2030; belonging to the group of 5 leading provinces and cities in the country in tourism development, gradually affirming the position of a typical destination of Southeast Asia.
Specifically, total revenue from tourists strives to reach 9 billion USD; the contribution of the service and tourism industries to GRDP reaches about 20%.
Total visitors reached 33 million, of which international visitors accounted for 40-45%. Tourism activities are expected to create jobs for over 300,000 direct and indirect workers, making an important contribution to economic restructuring and sustainable development.
Orienting to 2045, Khanh Hoa tourism will be globally recognized as one of the leading sea tourism destinations in Asia; strongly develop products and services with high added value, and increase the proportion of the service sector in the province's economic structure.
Mr. Ta Van Ha - Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee for Culture and Society - said: "Khanh Hoa holds a particularly important position in Vietnam's tourism development strategy.
This expert suggested that Khanh Hoa should proactively propose pilot models, from bay space management, developing high-class resorts to specialized tourism services.
