The center of the event series is the Workshop “Solutions and Strategies for the Hotel Industry 2024” and the Competition “Da Nang Professional Chef 2024”. Parallel events include an exhibition of hotel industry supply products; the workshop “Tourism Industry Business Prospects and Trends 2025”, and the workshop “Responsible Purchasing and Sustainable Hotel Operations” held consecutively on December 9 and 10, 2024 in Da Nang.
The event was attended by Mr. Le Van Dai - Vice President of Da Nang Labor Federation, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai An - Deputy Director of Da Nang Department of Tourism, along with many leaders, hotel managers and professional chefs.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai An emphasized the role of culinary tourism in the sustainable development of Da Nang, saying that the professional chef competition contributes to promoting the exchange of knowledge and skills and creating international resonance.
Meanwhile, Mr. Le Van Dai affirmed that the competition not only honors the culinary profession but also promotes innovation and creativity of chefs.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Quynh, Vice Chairman of Da Nang Tourism Association and Chairman of Da Nang Hotel Association, highly appreciated the workshop "Solutions and strategies for the hotel industry 2024", saying that the presentations from leading experts provided the most updated information on market trends, supporting businesses in planning their development.
The product exhibition also creates opportunities for connecting suppliers and businesses. He also shared the goal of turning Da Nang into a “common kitchen” to introduce international cuisines, combining international ingredients in Vietnamese dishes and vice versa.
The “Da Nang Professional Chef 2024” competition gathered 14 teams, 28 chefs, and was judged by 4 prestigious chefs. The first prize went to the team from InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort with the dishes “Hoi An-style American Chicken Salad” and “Quang Noodles with American Chicken”. The event affirmed Da Nang’s commitment to sustainable tourism development, harmoniously combining economic and cultural factors.
