In the clear blue weather on the top of Mau Son, the grasslands wind along the mountainside, interspersed with dark green forest patches, create a scene that is both spacious and quiet.
Looking down from above, the central area of the mountain peak still retains the familiar shape of a spontaneous tourist destination rather than a synchronous resort and entertainment complex.
According to Lao Dong's records, before the opportunity to transform with a large-scale tourism and entertainment complex, the natural beauty of Mau Son is still the greatest asset of this mountainous region.

Houses, old stone corridors covered with moss, walls stained with the colors of years, windows opening to the dim sky evoke a feeling of both nostalgia and contemplation.
Some existing service items such as buildings or stops still contribute to welcoming visitors, but overall, Mau Son still lacks products of sufficient scale to create strong momentum for tourism.
Therefore, the promotion of the Mau Son eco-tourism and cable car complex to be re-implemented is opening up many expectations.

According to the plan, the highlight on the mountain peak is the Sun World entertainment complex, expected to be built into three subdivisions including Snow Castle, Fog Village and Lava City.
At the foot of the mountain, more green parks, walking paths, theaters, central lotus pond, shopping complexes and synchronous service facilities will be formed.
The project has a total investment of over 7,352 billion VND, a land use area of over 692ha, and was started in May 2022.
However, the implementation process has encountered some obstacles related to site clearance and legal procedures, causing progress to be slower than planned.

After the working session between leaders of Lang Son province and the investor in early February 2026, departments and agencies are assigned to urgently review the route direction, conduct field surveys, and complete procedures so that the project can be restarted in April 2026, prioritizing the deployment of the cable car route.
Mr. Doan Thanh Son - Vice Chairman of Lang Son Provincial People's Committee said: "For many years, Mau Son has mainly been known as a short-term sightseeing and resort destination. The lack of large-scale entertainment products makes the length of stay of tourists not long, and tourism attraction is not commensurate with its potential.
Mr. Son added that, along with the orientation of making Mau Son a national tourist area by 2030, an eco-tourism, resort, and entertainment complex is expected to create a strong boost for this mountainous region.

Mr. Vi Van Huan - a resident living at the foot of Mau Son mountain - said that they expect the project to be implemented soon to create more livelihoods on the spot.
What people expect is not only a new face for the tourist area, but also opportunities to expand accommodation services, food, local specialties, participate in community tourism and have more stable jobs.
According to people, if the project is done synchronously, preserving the natural landscape and highland identity, Mau Son will have a much greater attraction than it is now.
From a local perspective, the government also expects the project to become an important boost to expand the tourism and service development space for Lang Son.
