Recently, the Vietnamese tourism industry has focused on implementing digital transformation activities to create a smart tourism ecosystem in accordance with the Government's general policy in the "National Digital Transformation Strategy".

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that digital transformation needs to be focused, key, substantial, and effective, avoiding the situation of "a hundred flowers blooming", overlapping, and waste; data must be "correct, sufficient, clean, and alive". The Prime Minister directed that 2023 be the "Year of Digital Data, creating and exploiting data to create new values".

As a focal point in the field of digital transformation in tourism, the Tourism Information Center has recently focused on building digital platforms at the national level to form a unified and synchronized smart tourism ecosystem nationwide, overcoming the widespread and inconsistent situation of tourism applications and websites. Below are some outstanding products.

Viet Card - National Tourist Card is a product of cooperation between the National Tourism Administration (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) and the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy (Ministry of Industry and Trade), including physical cards and digital cards. The National Tourist Card is integrated with modern, safe, secure technologies, interconnected with utilities in many related fields such as healthcare, education, transportation, e-commerce and residential area utilities...

This solution helps form and promote new habits in tourism - cashless payment, thereby saving time, increasing experience and convenience for tourists.

The national tourism application “Vietnam Travel” is an application for domestic and foreign tourists when traveling in Vietnam, providing comprehensive support for tourists through the integration of multiple utilities such as searching for tourism information, digital tourism maps, looking up travel businesses, accommodation facilities, tour guides, booking rooms, booking tickets, electronic payments, tour management, feedback to authorities, etc.

The Tourism Management and Business Platform is one of 35 national digital platforms that need to be prioritized for development, according to the announcement of the Ministry of Information and Communications. The platform is a digital environment connecting tourism service businesses, travel agencies, tour guides and tourism management agencies at the central and local levels.

Main features include one-touch electronic payment, room management at accommodation facilities, promotion program management, sales management, loyalty customer management, multimedia guide, statistical reports according to regulations...

The tourism database system is a unified data platform serving the state management of tourism from the central to local levels. The system includes data on travel agencies, tour guides, accommodation establishments, tourist areas and attractions, and other tourism service establishments such as shopping malls, restaurants, entertainment areas, health care, etc., aiming to be updated in real time.

The electronic ticket system is a modern technology product to control entrance tickets at tourist attractions, tourist areas, and entertainment areas. The outstanding utility of the electronic ticket system is that visitors can use a single ticket with a QR code for a large group instead of one ticket per person like other systems; eliminating traditional printed tickets helps reduce waste and environmental pollution.

In addition, the system helps to accurately control the number of people entering; supports customers to buy tickets online to reduce queuing time at tourist attractions, supports issuing electronic invoices for travel agencies to bring customers. For the management board of tourist attractions, it will help to transform the ticket management and control process in a scientific, transparent, effective direction, optimize human resources and contribute to environmental protection.
