Nghe An Provincial People's Committee has just issued Plan No. 257/KH-UBND on organizing the Sen Village Festival in 2026, celebrating the 136th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2026) and announcing the Decision on the National Tourist Area of Kim Lien Relic Area.
According to the plan, the festival is organized to express the gratitude and respect of the people for President Ho Chi Minh; and at the same time honor and promote the cultural values of Sen Village, contributing to propaganda and education of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style.
With the theme "Lotus initiates new energy", the 2026 Lotus Village Festival is organized at the provincial level in May 2026, at locations including Kim Lien commune, Truong Vinh ward and Thanh Vinh ward.
The highlight of the event is the Opening Ceremony of the 2026 Sen Village Festival associated with the announcement of the Decision on the National Tourist Area of Kim Lien Relic Area, expected to take place on May 16, 2026 at Lang Sen Stadium (Kim Lien commune), broadcast live on NTV.
Prior to that, many activities will be organized such as designing festival identification kits, press conferences, propaganda and promotion of Uncle Ho's hometown tourism; flower and incense offering ceremonies at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial House, Chung Son Temple; procession of Uncle Ho's photo from Kim Lien Relic Site to Lang Sen Stadium.
After the opening ceremony, the province will pilot the "Lighting up Lotus Village" night tourism program with night sightseeing activities, building night tours, lotus ao dai parades and organizing the "Village Market" space associated with cultural and culinary experiences.
In addition, exhibition activities about President Ho Chi Minh's journey to find a way to save the country will be held at Ho Chi Minh Square and Kim Lien Relic Site from the beginning of May 2026. Some key projects such as Mau Temple and phase 1 of the Cultural Tourist Area in Kim Lien commune are also expected to be inaugurated on this occasion.
