This year's National Day holiday, September 2nd, Dien Bien province for the first time organized a hot air balloon experience activity, bringing people and tourists the opportunity to admire Dien Bien Phu ward and the surrounding landscape from a height of 30-50m.
Experiential activities are organized at Dien Bien Provincial Stadium, within the framework of activities of the International Dance Festival 2026.
According to the organizing unit, the hot air balloons are fixed with ropes at an altitude of 30-50m, not flying freely. Out of a total of 6 hot air balloons put into operation, 2 are for tourists to experience and 4 are for performances.
Each experience lasts about 10 minutes, depending on weather conditions and wind force. It is expected that each hour can carry out 4-5 trips. Each trip carries a maximum of 8-10 people, including pilots.
Ticket prices are listed at 300,000 VND for adults and 240,000 VND for children. To ensure safety, children under 12 years old are not allowed to participate in the experience.
Before putting it into service, the organizing unit has completed the inspection of the hot air balloon, equipment system as well as the deployment and landing area. Weather conditions, especially wind force, are monitored regularly to ensure safety throughout the operation process.
This is the first time Dien Bien has organized a hot air balloon experience, expected to create more highlights for the 2026 International Dance Festival.
The activity also contributes to diversifying tourism products, bringing new experiences to people and tourists when coming to Dien Bien.
