The Dau Island Festival is one of the biggest festivals of the year in Do Son District, Hai Phong. The history of this festival is associated with the Nam Hai Than Vuong temple - the place of worship for a general of the Tran Dynasty who died in the 13th century. In 2025, the festival will take place from February 28 to March 8 (ie from the 1st to the 9th of February of the year At Ty).
On February 28, Do Son district held opening ceremonies including incense offering and flag-raising ceremony. The first incense offering ceremony took place at Nghe Temple - the main temple of the Mekong Delta. This place worships the god Diem Tuoc - The superior angel who protects Do Son people from natural disasters and enemy disasters. Next, the ceremony delegation disembarked onto the boat to Dau Island, where the temple of Nam Hai Than Vuong is located.

The new feature of this year's festival is that after the incense offering ceremony, the flag-raising ceremony is the women's gathering ceremony. This change aims to create innovation, have more activities on the opening day of the festival for people and tourists to enjoy and immerse themselves in the spiritual culture of the locality.
In addition to traditional rituals, there are cultural activities imbued with national identity including the Chess General Association and the program of the 3rd Do Son Song and Song Chau Van Festival.
