"Today is the family's first outing during the holiday season, and we plan to spend the whole day visiting all the historical sites, so that our children and grandchildren can learn more about the history of the land they are living in" - Ms. Bien said.
Taking her 3 grandchildren to visit historical sites, Ms. Lo Thi Mang (75 years old, Thanh An commune) said that the independent Tet holiday is not only a vacation, but also to remember the origin, the people who fell on the land of Dien Bien Phu.
"Although I am old, I still try to go with my grandchildren. I have to tell you how hard our ancestors worked and sacrificed to get to this day" - Ms. Mang said.

For the people of the highlands, the National Day is an occasion for families to gather, go to the streets together, visit, and take souvenir photos. That is a unique cultural feature, where the glorious past is told at "red addresses".
Previously, informing Lao Dong, Mr. Nguyen Anh Dao - Director of the Dien Bien Provincial Monuments Management Board - said: "Celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, the Board has hung the national flag, the Party flag and the wire flag at the relic sites to create a festive atmosphere and build meaningful check-in points to serve the people and tourists".
