From June 26 to 28, the Hanoi Department of Tourism in coordination with Tay Ho Ward People's Committee organized the Hanoi Lotus Festival 2026. The event aims to honor the value of lotus flowers in the life of Vietnamese people, and at the same time promote the image of the Capital associated with West Lake and famous lotus growing areas.
Right during the festival days, the event attracted a large number of people and tourists to visit, take photos, and experience cultural activities. Notably, many people chose ao dai as costumes when participating, creating a traditional scene amidst a space filled with lotus colors.
Living in the West Lake area for nearly 25 years, Ms. Tran Kim Anh (Tay Ho ward, Hanoi) said that she always has a special affection for this flower. Therefore, every time the lotus festival is held, she and her husband arrange time to participate.
At this year's event, Ms. Kim Anh chose ao dai as a way to express her love for national culture. According to her, ao dai is not only a traditional costume but also enhances the gentle and elegant beauty of Vietnamese women.
Almost every year when there is a lotus festival, my husband and I participate. I choose ao dai because this is the traditional costume of the nation. Every time I wear ao dai on occasion like this, I feel more meaningful and proud," Ms. Kim Anh shared.
For the first time coming to the Hanoi Lotus Festival 2026, Ms. Nguyen Thi Uyen (Dai Thanh commune, Hanoi) shared that wearing ao dai in a space filled with brilliant lotus colors brings her a feeling of novelty and excitement.
On weekends, being able to come here with friends to see lotus flowers, take photos and immerse myself in the festival atmosphere makes me feel very happy. This is a meaningful experience, helping me to feel more clearly the beauty of lotus flowers as well as traditional cultural values," Ms. Uyen shared.
Hanoi Lotus Festival 2026 is not only a cultural rendezvous for the people of the Capital but also contributes to spreading the image of lotus flowers in modern life.
During the 3 days of the festival, people and tourists can explore the space "Lotus - Essence and Life", where more than 30 lotus varieties from Hanoi and many localities across the country are displayed.
In addition, OCOP booths, handicrafts, fashion inspired by lotus flowers and lotus tea workshop activities,... also promise to bring interesting experiences to people and tourists when coming to the festival.
