On September 14, the Village Front Working Committee coordinated with the Dong Can Temple - Temple Relic Organizing Committee to solemnly organize the Traditional Festival in 2025. The festival takes place over two days, from September 13-14 (ie July 22-23 of the lunar calendar), with a solemn ceremony and many cultural, artistic and sports activities imbued with local nuances.
The Temple of Literature - Dong Can Pagoda worships two famous people associated with the Ly Dynasty: Hoang Thai Hau - Lan and Thanh Hoang Do Cong Cot, who contributed to helping King Ly Nhan Tong.
According to local historical records, Hoang Thai Hau - Lan (born on March 7, 1044), known as Phu Thi Linh Nhan, is remembered by the people as a person who made public and urgent, restored the fields, promoted intensively increasing crops and contributed to the opening of Dong Can hamlet, Tong Hoi Xuyen, Gia Loc district, Hai Duong province (now Dong Can village, Gia Loc commune, Hai Phong city). After her death, people built a temple to commemorate her contributions to the community.
In addition to traditional rituals, this year's festival program organizes many cultural, artistic and folk games: Cheo singing, Quan Ho, and community folk games.
