2 famous beaches devastated
Quat Lam (Giao Ninh commune, Ninh Binh province) used to be a bustling beach tourist destination, but now it has become quiet. Along the coast, many hotels and guesthouses are closed; many buildings are abandoned and degraded, creating a scene of desolation.
According to people, business activities have stagnated since site clearance to serve planning. In recent years, customers have decreased sharply, mainly going back and forth during the day due to lack of services and accommodation facilities that do not meet demand.
Not only Quat Lam, Thinh Long beach is also in a deserted state after a long period of cautious operation. Currently, this area is implementing a project to consolidate, complete and handle sea dike erosion, expected to be completed before April 30.
Sharing with PV, business households in Thinh Long said that in the past, in the summer, this area was very crowded with customers, motels were almost fully booked. But in recent years, customers have decreased significantly, many households have had to close down because they have no source of income.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh (a business household in Quat Lam) said that in 2025, storms and sea level rise will seriously degrade tourism infrastructure; the situation of waste also affects the destination's image.
