On the occasion of National Day September 2 this year, Thuc Phan ward will organize a series of cultural and sports activities lasting from August 28 to September 1 to attract tourists and stimulate local tourism demand.
On July 29, in an exchange with PV, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh - Vice Chairman of Thuc Phan Ward People's Committee (Cao Bang province) provided information about a series of cultural and sports activities to celebrate the 81st anniversary of National Day September 2nd (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2026).
According to the plan, the activities will take place from the night of August 28th to the end of September 1st.
The highlight of the program is the release of 3,000 sky lanterns combined with the outdoor music festival "Cao Bang Concert - Thousand Years of Water" on the evening of September 1st at Pac Bo Square (km5, Thuc Phan ward).

The program gathered many famous artists and ended with a 15-minute high-altitude fireworks display serving people and tourists.
Vice Chairman of Thuc Phan Ward People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Thanh said that the series of activities is organized to create an atmosphere to celebrate the country's big holiday, and at the same time create highlights to promote the local image and attract tourists.
Sky lanterns are actually just names, the organizers will use LED lights in a bag shaped like a sky lantern, inside inflated with helium gas that does not catch fire, with a rope tied," Mr. Thanh said.

According to Mr. Thanh, during the light release process, the rope will be tied to the human hand, after 30 minutes it will be recovered and can be reused for the next time, without affecting the environment.
In addition to the music festival, many activities imbued with national cultural identity will also be organized such as the art program "Hao Khi Song Bang" on the evening of August 28th; the emulation contest on the Bang Giang River, knitting chicken cages and an OCOP product display and introduction space from August 29th to 31st.
The organizers said that visitors will directly participate in the experience of releasing sky lanterns, contributing to increasing interaction and creating an impression for the event.
According to the People's Committee of Thuc Phan ward, the total cost of organizing the chain of activities is about 5 billion VND, fully mobilized from socialized sources.
Assessing the event, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan - Chairwoman of Cao Bang Provincial Tourism Association said that organizing a series of large-scale activities will contribute to stimulating tourism demand, promoting Cao Bang's image, and creating more impressions for the locality on the domestic and international tourism map.
This series of activities is organized on the basis of continuing the success of the art program "Touching the Peaceful Flow" and the night of releasing 5,000 flower lanterns on the Bang Giang River held on April 30th.
According to local statistics, the previous event attracted about 57,000 visitors.

At the meeting, delegates also proposed many solutions to serve the expected increased number of visitors, such as arranging additional accommodation in eligible households when the hotel system is overloaded, promoting communication, event promotion and researching the restoration of the traditional market fair at Kim Dong pedestrian street to enhance the experience for tourists.
