Chairman of An Giang Provincial Tourism Association Nguyen Vu Khac Huy said: The Phu Quoc tourism market situation during the National Day 2/9 holiday is recording quite positive signals. The 5-day holiday creates favorable conditions for families, groups of friends and agencies and units to organize resort trips. According to Traveloka SEA Index data recently announced, Phu Quoc leads the group of domestic destinations with a demand index of 100 points; service bookings increased by about 86% compared to the same period in 2025. This shows that Phu Quoc continues to have strong attraction for the domestic market, especially in sea resort products, family tours, package tours and high-quality service segments.
Besides the increase in domestic tourists during the holidays, international tourists to Phu Quoc still maintain good growth momentum. From the above signals, it can be expected that Phu Quoc's tourism activities during this holiday will be more vibrant. However, Mr. Huy also expressed that the actual number of visitors still depends on the weather, transportation capacity and specific holiday schedules of each workforce group. Therefore, businesses need to prepare proactively but flexibly, ensuring service quality in all situations.
Mr. Huy also informed that the Provincial Tourism Association also strengthens propaganda to members, travel businesses, accommodation establishments, restaurants, transportation units and tourist attractions to proactively prepare sufficient conditions to serve tourists.
In which, review the service chain and improve products such as checking accommodation capacity, transportation, restaurants, attractions and tour guides. Develop flexible programs from 3 days 2 nights to 5 days 4 nights, combining resorts, entertainment, cuisine and local cultural experiences.
Arrange sufficient personnel on peak days; strengthen communication skills, foreign languages, situation handling and customer care. Publicly list prices, fulfill commitments, clearly inform about service usage conditions and minimize unclear surcharges.
For sea and island tours, carefully check vehicles, crew members, life jackets, life-saving equipment and passenger lists. Update weather, prepare replacement schedules, promptly adjust or temporarily suspend operations when there is a risk of unsafety.
The Association determines that the goal of the holiday is not only to welcome many visitors but more importantly to ensure that each visitor has a good experience, clearly feels the professionalism, friendliness and responsibility of Phu Quoc destination. This is also an opportunity for local businesses to improve their capacity, strengthen links and bring more value from tourism activities to the local community.

At the same time, contributing to better preparation for the goal of raising the destination to APEC 2027," Mr. Huy emphasized.
According to the Provincial Department of Tourism, in August 2026, An Giang province is estimated to welcome more than 2.35 million visitors (up 22.9% over the same period), of which it is estimated to welcome more than 214,000 international visitors (up 89.6% over the same period); Total revenue from tourism is estimated to reach 6,826 billion VND (up 52.3% over the same period).
Phu Quoc special zone alone is estimated to welcome more than 1 million visitors (up 28.3% compared to the same period), of which international visitors are estimated to welcome more than 212,000 visitors (up 94.3% compared to the same period); Total revenue from tourism is estimated at 5,260 billion VND (up 54.3% compared to the same period).
