Of which, international visitors are more than 26,200, an increase of 55.7% over the same period; total revenue reached more than 722 billion VND, an increase of 54.9% over the same period.
Phu Quoc special zone alone is estimated to welcome nearly 102,000 visitors, an increase of 26.6% compared to the same period; of which international visitors are more than 25,400, an increase of 56.5% compared to the same period. Some other areas such as Ha Tien ward welcomed more than 25,800 visitors, Kien Hai special zone welcomed more than 16,500 visitors, Vinh Te ward welcomed nearly 19,000 visitors, Nui Cam commune welcomed nearly 12,000 visitors.
The Department of Tourism assessed that the preparation for serving tourists during the holiday has been implemented quite well by localities and tourism service business units in the province; products and services have been consolidated, renewed and gradually improved in quality, and some new products have been put into operation, contributing to meeting the needs of tourists for sightseeing, relaxation, and entertainment.
The number of tourists to An Giang province increased compared to the same period, but mainly tourists visiting tourist areas and attractions (commuters going back and forth during the day), so purchasing power and length of stay in general are not high.
In addition, a part of tourists tend to choose destinations with advantages in sea and island tourism such as Phu Quoc, Kien Hai, Ha Tien for long holidays. At the same time, service costs, especially airfares and some input factors, tend to increase due to the impact of geopolitical conflicts and general economic difficulties, partly affecting tourists' spending decisions and stay time.
Tourism business units strictly comply with legal regulations; ensure full conditions on facilities, human resources, service quality; well implement requirements on environmental protection, food safety and hygiene, fire prevention and fighting, listing and implementing prices correctly.
At the same time, proactively implement measures to ensure security and safety for tourists, arrange rescue and relief forces, appropriate signs and warnings; improve service quality with a civilized and polite attitude; in which, food establishments must ensure processing conditions and clear origin of ingredients, and travel businesses develop programs to attract tourists associated with journey safety.
In addition, encourage the organization of activities, events, and programs to stimulate tourism demand, develop new products and services; prepare conditions to support tourists and fully implement reporting and statistics according to regulations.
In addition, due to the holidays of the Hung Kings Commemoration Festival and the holiday of the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2026), International Labor Day 1 for the past 5 years have been close, in which the Hung Kings Commemoration Festival holiday has a shorter duration, so the general trend of tourists is to choose longer holidays to travel, relax and have fun and entertainment.
Specifically, U Minh Thuong National Park has temporarily suspended sightseeing, experiential and recreational fishing activities during peak season to ensure safety for forest fire prevention and fighting. This suspension partly affects the diversity of ecotourism products in the area and the choice of tourists.
