Diversifying international visitor trends
Mr. Nguyen Vu Khac Huy - Chairman of the An Giang Tourism Association - said that Phu Quoc tourism in the last months of the year witnessed a breakthrough in the number of international visitors. Because the end of the year is the time when there are many visitors from Russia, Europe, Australia, the US, Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, India... all increase sharply.
In December 2025 alone, Phu Quoc is expected to welcome 1,400 Indian visitors via 8 charter flights from New Delhi. In early December, the wedding of the Indian Phu billion in Phu Quoc took place continuously for 7 days. This is considered the largest wedding ever held in Vietnam, not only because of the budget but also because of the way the destination is designed. Specifically, the couple rented a large-scale 5-star resort in Phu Quoc, entire private beach, conference center and outdoor swimming pool. At the same time, use the square of VinWonders entertainment area and the entire coastal elite subdivision.
The series of events in the wedding ceremony were deployed in parallel in 5 different spaces, each space has a separate decorative concept, invested and constructed independently, with a total estimated decoration and set-up cost of more than 2 million USD.

International visitors to Phu Quoc not only come to have fun, winter vacation or celebrate Christmas and New Year's Day, but also tend to be chosen by the super-rich to organize large-scale parties.
In 2025 alone, Phu Quoc is expected to welcome about 8.1 million visitors, including 1.8 million international visitors, with total tourism revenue reaching nearly VND44,000 billion.
According to Mr. Bui Quoc Thai - Director of the Department of Tourism of An Giang province, to welcome the rapidly increasing number of visitors, especially European and Indian visitors, transport infrastructure must be upgraded synchronously.
Mr. Thai said that the province is coordinating with colleges and universities in the Mekong Delta to train high-quality tourism human resources to prepare for the stage of serving large and high-end delegations of APEC 2027. In addition, apply digital transformation to enhance international promotion, increase Phu Quoc's presence on global tourism platforms.
The 20 millionth international visitor milestone
On December 15, at Phu Quoc International Airport, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the National Administration of Tourism of Vietnam coordinated with the People's Committee of An Giang province and businesses in the area to solemnly organize the Welcoming Ceremony for the 20 millionth international tourist to Vietnam.
Ms. Karolina Agnieszka from Poland, the 20 millionth visitor, shared: Right now, I am really touched. I feel very lucky to be here and have the opportunity to come to Vietnam. Your country is beautiful. The people are friendly, warm and open. I want to say that I love Vietnam and welcome Vietnam. This is a moment that I will cherish for the rest of my life. This is the first time I have come to Vietnam, I will also introduce all my friends and relatives in Poland to visit this wonderful country.

This milestone is even more meaningful when achieved in the context of global tourism having just gone through an unprecedented difficult period due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since Vietnam fully opened tourism activities from March 15, 2022, the tourism industry has recovered and grown continuously.
Choosing Phu Quoc as the place to hold the 20 millionth International Tourist Welcoming Ceremony is meaningful. Phu Quoc is not only a typical sea and island tourism center of Vietnam, but also a locality that fully converges the advantages of natural resources, modern infrastructure and a synchronous tourism ecosystem.
Phu Quoc has gradually affirmed its capacity to organize national and international events, towards APEC 2027, and is a vivid representative image for the new development stage of Vietnam tourism - greener, more sustainable and of higher quality.

Phu Quoc is honored with a series of prestigious tourism awards, an attractive destination that visitors cannot miss. At the World Travel Awards 2025, the Dredge Beach was honored for the first time as "World's Leading Regional Beach". A series of consecutive awards: World's Leading Natural Sea and Island Destination, World's Leading Iconic Tourist Area for Hoang Hon Town, World's Leading Iconic Tourist Bridge for the Bridge of Love and World's Leading Luxury wedding resort belongs to JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort & Spa. These titles have helped the image of the pearl island spread strongly to many international markets.
