On December 10, the first direct flight from New Delhi brought about 180 Indian tourists to Phu Quoc International Airport, starting a vacation combined with sightseeing and tourism in Vietnam.
According to the plan, from now until January 10, 2026, there will be 7 more direct flights operated by Air India. Each direct flight is expected to serve about 180 people, bringing a total of 1,400 Indian passengers to Vietnam.
This is a strategic step marking the enhancement of cooperation between the two brands, while promoting the image of Vietnam on the global tourism map.

Mr. Ngo Minh Quan - Deputy Director of Overseas Market at Vietravel commented: "The Indian market is currently one of the important pillars in Vietravel's international development strategy. The series of direct flights with MakeMyTrip not only creates favorable travel conditions for tourists but also helps Phu Quoc affirm its position as a leading sea and island destination in the region".
According to Mr. Quan, the Indian market is growing strongly and is one of the company's strategic focuses in the coming period. The cooperation not only enhances customer reach but also contributes to making Phu Quoc a more attractive destination on the international tourism map.
Phu Quoc with its temperate climate, large-scale resort ecosystem and diverse cultural identity is becoming a suitable destination for the Indian market. Through new direct flights, the unit hopes to create a foundation for developing regular flights, building specialized travel combos and implementing international MICE programs to bring Indian visitors to Phu Quoc in the coming time.

According to the An Giang Department of Tourism, in 2025, Phu Quoc is expected to welcome over 8.1 million visitors, including 1.8 million international visitors. Total revenue from the tourism industry reached nearly VND44,000 billion. Indian visitors to Phu Quoc alone are estimated at more than 150,000 visitors.
Previously, Phu Quoc island was the wedding venue of the Indian billionaire couple with more than 1,131 guests. The wedding was overwhelming with its splendor, while proving that Phu Quoc is attractive enough to become a destination for international super-rich people.
