From mid-October 2025 to April 2026, Phu Quoc will welcome a series of flights from Russia and the CIS countries, in the context of a strong increase in Phu Quoc tourism demand in the above markets. Charter flights will depart from 14 Russian cities and the CIS bloc, operated by Anex Tour Vietnam with two airlines Azur Air and Vietjet Air, with a frequency of 75 80 flights per month. Notably, the resumption of flights from Moscow to Phu Quoc is noteworthy.
In particular, the charter flight program from the Russian and CIS markets exploited by Anex Vietnam company, from October 2025 to April 2026, is expected to bring 60,0.000 Russian and CIS tourists to Phu Quoc, using 1,200 to 1,500 rooms per day. On average, each tourist from these countries will stay over 10 nights in Phu Quoc.

Thanks to these positive signals, it is forecasted that the number of visitors from Russia and the CIS could increase by 30-35% compared to last year. Data from Phu Quoc International Airport also shows that air traffic volume from Russia to Phu Quoc has increased significantly, with the number of passengers increasing by more than 300% over the same period last year.
The reason for this growth is that Russian tourists are traveling for a long time to " avoid the cold" to the islands with a warm climate in Southeast Asia. If in the past, Russian visitors often chose Bali or Phuket, Phu Quoc - with the recognition of an international brand that has increased sharply in the past 2 years - is a choice that is both new and interesting.

International recognition has given Phu Quoc's growing reputation strength. Recently, the prestigious magazine CN Traveler (USA) ranked Phu Quoc as the most beautiful island in Asia and in the top 3 in the world. Forbes Italia praised the island as "a new upstream destination of Asia" while Straits Times of Singapore called it "a paradise island of Vietnam".
"Congratulations to Phu Quoc have brought the island a large number of visitors, when Phu Quoc welcomed nearly 980,000 international visitors from January to July 2025, an increase of 74% compared to 2024", commented Travel and Tour World news site.
Not only a tropical paradise loved by Russian tourists, Phu Quoc also owns a tourism - entertainment - resort ecosystem in the South of Phu Quoc Island with experiences that are not available anywhere else in the world: from the high-class resorts on Bai kem to the world's longest 3-line cable car to Hon Thom Island, Kiss of the Sea show with Guinness World Record or night-time fireworks in Hoang Hon Town...
The lack of experience is in line with the trend of long-term holidays of Russian visitors, when every day in Phu Quoc they are not afraid of "no work to do".

Mr. Phan Dang Anh, Deputy General Director of Anex Vietnam Trading and Tourism Company Limited, said: "With a pleasant tropical climate and favorable flight routes, Phu Quoc properly meets the needs of Russian visitors when they enter the cold winter. Moreover, the Russian people also appreciate the safety and friendliness of Phu Quoc, helping them feel integrated and comfortable when coming here, with many options for experiencing both resorts, nature and entertainment.
The expansion of the 2025 - 2026 winter charter route not only helps increase the number of international visitors to Phu Quoc but also contributes to promoting the image of Vietnamese destinations, creating leverage for trade - tourism promotion activities, while affirming Phu Quoc's role as a high-end resort tourism center of the region".
The economic benefits from the number of Russian and CIS visitors to Phu Quoc are expected to increase further in the long term. The increase in the number of visitors will help promote economic activities in the fields of accommodation, transportation and related businesses, encouraging hotels, resorts and entertainment establishments to be ready to meet increasing demand.
At the same time, Phu Quoc is also actively making efforts to upgrade infrastructure and maintain high standards in tourism management and services, allowing the island to improve its ability to sustainably welcome guests.

Not only new flights from Russia and CIS, according to information from Khmer Times, AirAsia Cambodia will operate a direct flight from Siem Reap (Cambodia) to Phu Quoc from December 17, 2025 with a frequency of 3 flights/week.
This new direct flight not only promotes tourism but also opens up opportunities for cultural exchanges and further promotes the economies of both countries. In just one hour, passengers can experience the charming beaches of Phu Quoc Island and the famous Angkor Wat shrine, making travel in the area easier and faster, Nam Vissoth, CEO of AirAsia Cambodia, shared with Khmer Times.
