On the afternoon of July 20, in Hanoi, Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee held a press conference to introduce the Dak Lak Durian Festival 2026 with the theme "Dak Lak Durian - Connecting to reach far".
This is the first time Dak Lak has organized a provincial-level durian festival, taking place from August 15 to September 2 in Buon Ma Thuot ward, Krong Pac commune, Tuy Hoa ward and durian growing areas in the area.

Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Dao My - Vice Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Festival Organizing Committee said that the event aims to promote the image of Dak Lak being dynamic and rich in identity; honoring durian growers, businesses and entities in the industry value chain.
This is also an opportunity to connect investment, promote trade, and expand consumption markets. Thereby, contributing to economic and tourism development and raising the brand of Dak Lak durian in the domestic and international markets.
According to Mr. Tran Hong Tien - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak province, Standing Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee, Dak Lak currently has about 44,900ha of durian, accounting for 21.7% of the country's area.

The whole province has 269 growing areas, about 7,400ha granted growing area codes, 40 packaging facilities and 16 cold storage durian packaging facilities granted export codes by China. In 2025, the province's durian export turnover reached about 1.1 billion USD.
The festival includes 17 activities, expected to attract about 300,000 visitors. The highlight is a parade of about 500 durian pickup trucks, aiming to establish a Guinness World Record, along with durian picking activities to serve people and tourists.

In addition, the festival also has about 400 booths displaying durian, OCOP products and regional specialties; production - consumption connection conference with the theme "Sustainable durian ecosystem", online market, livestream sales and export contract signing.
According to the Organizing Committee, the Dak Lak Durian Festival 2026 is not only a cultural event but also an activity connecting raw material, processing, trade, tourism and culture areas, contributing to building a sustainable durian industry ecosystem, expanding the market and affirming Dak Lak's position as a key durian production region of Vietnam.
