According to leaders of Da Nang City People's Committee, the construction of Bang An Tower Park is a step to preserve relics and exploit cultural values associated with tourism development.
Bang An Tower is a typical Cham architectural work, ranked as a national architectural and artistic relic. The relic has outstanding historical, cultural and research value. The work was built around the 11th century, associated with the belief in worshiping the god Shiva of the Cham people. This used to be an important center for practicing religious rituals.
In terms of architecture, the tower is about 21.5m high, with an octagonal surface. The overall shape carries the Linga symbol - a sacred element in Cham culture. The work is a clear proof of the technical and artistic level of the ancient Cham residents.
Currently, the area around the relic has not been synchronously invested. Lack of parking lots, information and service areas, and infrastructure to serve visitors. This limits the ability to exploit the value of the relic.
According to the local proposal, Bang An Tower Park has a scale of about 4ha. Total estimated investment capital of 40 billion VND. The project includes items: green landscape, walking paths, parking lots, waiting houses, information center, Cham cultural display area, lighting system and public utilities.
In parallel, the relic conservation and restoration project is being implemented. Specialized agencies continue to complete design documents, appraise and organize construction according to the roadmap.
The investment in the park aims to create a community living space, enhance the tourist experience. At the same time, it contributes to urban embellishment, relic protection and promotion of local cultural values. The city requests relevant units to complete procedures, carefully study the investment scale, ensure efficiency, and avoid spreading out.
