Lam Dong - Bao Loc City is directing the handling and elimination of spontaneous waste collection points, causing environmental pollution and loss of urban beauty.

Ly Thai To is a tourist route connecting Bao Loc city center to Dam Bri waterfall tourist area. For many months, there have been 15 to 20 large and small garbage collection points on the route, causing a foul smell.

Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Tam, a tourist from Dong Nai, shared that she often travels to Lam Dong with her friends, and every time she visits Dam Bri waterfall, she is not satisfied because the road to Dam Bri waterfall is too full of trash.

According to Mr. Chu Kim Thac - Director of Dam Bri Waterfall Tourist Area, the situation of garbage often being stagnant and emitting a foul smell on Ly Thai To Street has caused environmental pollution and ruined the urban beauty. This situation has caused many tourists to have an "unsympathetic" view of Bao Loc.

Mr. Tran Chi Thang - Deputy Director of Bao Loc Urban Construction Joint Stock Company, said that this unit is focusing on coordinating with the People's Committee of Dam Bri commune to implement a plan to expand the area of garbage collection and transportation in the commune.

The survey shows that most people in Dam Bri commune often dump and collect garbage outside of the prescribed time frame. Therefore, the company is also coordinating with the People's Committee of Dam Bri commune to collect and completely handle spontaneous garbage collection points.

It is expected that within 7-10 days, the unit will collect and completely handle all spontaneous garbage collection points on Ly Thai To Street; at the same time, select 4 to 5 points as temporary garbage collection points within the prescribed time frame for collection and transportation.

According to Mr. Do Manh Tuong - Party Secretary and Chairman of Dam Bri Commune People's Committee, after completely handling the spontaneous garbage collection points, the unit will put up barriers and put up signs prohibiting dumping garbage. The unit will also arrange for people to regularly check, propagate, and remind people to comply with the regulations on hourly garbage disposal.

The commune has also assigned tasks to associations, unions and villages to strengthen propaganda about hourly garbage disposal regulations to the people.

Once in order, the commune will install cameras. If any cases of illegal dumping are discovered, there will be strict penalties.

According to the leader of Bao Loc City People's Committee, from the end of 2022, the unit has directed Bao Loc Urban Construction Joint Stock Company to coordinate with wards and communes to announce regulations on garbage dumping time and collection and transportation of household waste from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. every day.

Bao Loc Urban Construction Joint Stock Company is responsible for collecting and transporting garbage from 5:00 p.m. the previous day to 6:00 a.m. the following day.

After nearly 2 years of implementing regulations on hourly waste collection and disposal, there have been positive changes.

In particular, recently, Bao Loc City People's Committee has directed Bao Loc Urban Construction Joint Stock Company and the authorities of wards and communes to focus on thoroughly resolving and eliminating spontaneous waste collection points.

Basically, the hourly collection and disposal of waste by people in the central wards of Bao Loc city has become routine.

However, there are still cases of arbitrary dumping of waste, creating many new spontaneous waste collection points on National Highway 20, Tran Hung Dao Street, Southern bypass, Provincial Road 725...
