Can Tho City People's Committee has issued a plan to organize activities in response to Vietnam Culture Day (November 24) associated with the Ooc Om Boc Festival - Ngo Boat Racing in 2026. Accordingly, Can Tho City will have many unique cultural, sports, tourism and trade promotion programs, taking place in November.
The gratitude activity and the 3rd Southern Khmer Du Ke Stage Art Festival in 2026 are expected to be held at the beginning of the month.
Can Tho City Tourism Promotion Conference is expected to be held in the third or fourth quarter. Activities of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23); book exhibitions; Cai Luong play performances are expected to be held in November.
The highlight of the series of events is the Opening Ceremony of the Ooc Om Boc Festival - Ngo Boat Racing in Can Tho City 2026, scheduled to take place at 8:00 PM on November 22nd at Bach Dang Square, combined with a special art program and broadcast live.
Next, the expanded Can Tho City Ngo Boat Race 2026 will take place in 02 days (November 23rd and 24th) with the participation of more than 60 men's and women's Ngo boat teams inside and outside Can Tho City. The festival also has many unique activities imbued with Khmer cultural identity such as the Moon Worshiping Ceremony, water lantern releasing performance, Ca Hau boat and flat rice flake stabbing.
For the 2026 Can Tho City OCOP product and regional specialty trade promotion fair, which will be held from April 14 to November 11, it is expected to have about 200 - 300 booths, in Phu Loi ward.
According to the People's Committee of Can Tho City, the activities will contribute to promoting the unique cultural values of the city, thereby raising awareness of preserving and promoting cultural heritage and effectively implementing the Party's policies on cultural development.
For the Ooc Om Boc Festival - Ngo Boat Racing in 2026, Can Tho aims to honor the traditional cultural identity of the Khmer people, preserve and promote unique cultural and religious values; create unique cultural and tourism products, contributing to attracting tourists.
