In order to contribute to increasing the source of visitors and enhancing the value of heritage exploitation, on March 26, 2026, the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province and the People's Committee of Hai Phong City signed a regulation on coordination in managing the operation of inland waterway vehicles transporting passengers and tourists on Ha Long Bay and Lan Ha Bay. The coordination regulation between the two localities began to be implemented from April 1, 2026.
According to the Coordination Regulations, competent authorities will license tourist ships to transport passengers on 4 connecting routes: Ha Long Bay 3 - Lan Ha Bay; Ha Long Bay 4 - Lan Ha Bay; Ha Long Bay 5 - Lan Ha Bay and Ha Long Bay 6 - Lan Ha Bay.
All of these routes are overnight accommodation ships without organizing day tours, allowing tourists to have more time to experience and fully explore the beauty of two famous bay areas, Ha Long (Quang Ninh province) and Lan Ha (Hai Phong city).
Implementing the Coordination Regulations, on April 20, at Tuan Chau International Passenger Port and Ha Long International Passenger Port, there were 2 tourist boat trips of Bhaya Cruise Co., Ltd. and Asia High-Class Cruise Group JSC organized to serve visitors to Ha Long Bay - Lan Ha Bay. On average, each boat has about 40 guests, mostly international guests.
According to the plan, the two units will maintain the operation of this connecting tour with a fixed daily frequency of operation, contributing to the formation of a stable and long-term inter-regional tourism product.
In which, the Au Co 1 ship of Bhaya Yacht Co., Ltd. will take visitors on a tour of Ha Long Bay 3 - Lan Ha Bay, with the following itinerary: Ha Long Bay (port, wharf inland, Cua Van Floating Cultural Center, Tien Ong cave, Ba Ham lake, Ba Men temple, Ang Du, Kim Quy cave) - Lan Ha Bay (Tra Bau, Sang cave, Toi cave, Ba Trai Dao, Quai To, Viet Hai estuary, Hon Rua, Cai Beo fishing village - Ben Beo).
Ambassdor Signature ship of Asia High-Class DT Group JSC will take visitors on a tour of Ha Long Bay 6 - Lan Ha Bay, with the following itinerary: Ha Long Bay (port, wharf inland, Chan Voi island, Ba Cua bay, Tung Lam island, Cap Bai island) - Lan Ha Bay (Gia Luan, Tra Bau, Ong Cam, Sang cave, Toi cave, Ba Trai Dao, Quai To).
The official formation of the interconnected waterway transport route not only creates new tourism products, but also realizes the commitment to cooperation between Quang Ninh and Hai Phong in preserving and promoting the value of Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba archipelago, which has been recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage Site.
