Ho Chi Minh City was once again honored at the World Travel Awards (WTA) 2025 with 4 important categories, affirming its position as a leading destination in Asia and the world.
A representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism assessed that Ho Chi Minh City has been continuously honored at the WTA - "oscar Award of the world tourism industry" as a clear demonstration of the prestige, attractiveness and sustainable development potential of the city's tourism.
This is not only the result of efforts to improve service quality and diversify tourism products, but also shows the image of a dynamic, modern, creative city but still imbued with cultural identity - a factor that helps Ho Chi Minh City always maintain a special attraction for domestic and international tourists.

Notably, Vung Tau - the place name of the old Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, now part of Ho Chi Minh City after the merger of administrative boundaries, was honored for the first time in the category of Short-term Resort Destination in the leading coastal city in Asia.
This title contributes to highlighting the image of Vietnam's sea and island tourism. At the same time, it opens up opportunities for stronger promotion for the Ho Chi Minh City tourism brand in the region and the world.
The titles at WTA 2025 are not only a recognition of achievements but also a source of inspiration and strong motivation for Vietnamese tourism in general, Ho Chi Minh City in particular, to continue to affirm its position in the international arena.
At the World Travel Awards 2025, Ho Chi Minh City won the title of Asia's Leading Business Tourism Destination and Asia's Leading Festival and event Destination for 4 consecutive years (2022 - 2025).
In addition, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism has been recognized as the leading local tourism management agency in Asia for 3 consecutive years (2023 - 2025).
In particular, Vung Tau (formerly Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, now part of Ho Chi Minh City) was awarded the title of a short-term resort destination in the leading coastal city in Asia for the first time.
