On June 9, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports held a meeting on deploying the promotion of urban cuisine on the TikTok platform.

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hoi - Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports said that this program is implemented with the application of media types to promote Ho Chi Minh City's culture, sports and tourism.
The goal is to promote the most characteristic values of each locality to define that locality. From there, the locality also has more opportunities to develop the economy and expand product consumption through e-commerce platforms.

In the immediate future, the "Touching Heritage" program is expected to be implemented in 3 wards including Saigon, Ben Thanh and Cho Lon. These are areas that concentrate many heritages, architectural works, cultural values and unique features of Ho Chi Minh City.
According to Mr. Hoi, the locality is the unit that best understands which locations are suitable for livestreaming, which relics need to be promoted and which typical dishes need to be introduced. Therefore, the entire content expected to be implemented needs to be discussed with the locality for review, adjustment and supplementation to be appropriate.
Besides the content, security and safety assurance is also required to be especially focused on.
Ms. Pham Minh Trang - Director of TikTok Vietnam's strategic partner informed that this program combines short videos and livestreaming.
Representative of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Conservation Support Fund, Mr. Dao Trong Kien, informed that the program was initiated with the aim of creating an inspiring journey of discovery, where each ward and commune becomes a cultural heritage destination, with vibrant cuisine.
Through a series of experiential activities, the program wishes to promote culture, tourism, promote typical dishes and make the local image a familiar rendezvous for people and tourists. At the same time, this is also an opportunity to honor the heritage of Ho Chi Minh City, affirming the historical value and unique identity of each land.
