The National Day holiday of September 2nd is also an opportunity for many families to take their children out to play and experience before entering the new school year. At Hanoi Zoo, the space with many green trees and a system of animal breeding and care areas attracts a large number of parents and young children.
For Ms. To Uyen (Thuong Tin commune, Hanoi), this trip was chosen by her family to help her child have more practical experiences after lessons about the animal world in books.
“The family often reads stories about animals to my children, so taking advantage of holidays, I bring my children here to see firsthand the shapes, characteristics and actions of the species in reality” - Ms. Uyen shared.
According to her, letting children read books from a young age is very important, but when children grow up, practical experiences will help them understand more deeply about what they have learned.
Animal images in books can be vividly and cutely illustrated, but when observed in reality, children will recognize many different characteristics. Through this, children can understand more about the behaviors of animals, living environments and how species adapt to nature.
Ms. Uyen believes that letting children be exposed to nature early also helps children form awareness of the environment and know how to protect themselves when in natural spaces.

Not only aiming for experiences for young children, many families also see this as an opportunity to rest and relax after working and studying.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Huyen Thuong (My Duc commune, Hanoi) said - the family takes advantage of the holiday to take their children to Hanoi Zoo to play, and at the same time prepare mentally for the new school year.
“The children are on holiday, so the family takes them out for entertainment, ending the summer days to continue studying. Here there are many green trees, fresh air and many areas for children to visit and explore the animal world” - Ms. Thuong said.
According to her, green space is one of the factors that makes the family choose this location. After busy working days, the whole family has more time together, while the children can play and explore.
My husband and I feel quite relaxed, having free time to watch our children play and enjoy the green space. The whole family likes it" - Ms. Thuong shared.

Without having to travel far from the city, places with green spaces and experiential activities are becoming a suitable choice for many families during holidays. For young children, each trip not only brings joy but also opens up opportunities to learn from the real world, after lessons on the pages of books.
