From 8am, Mr. Le Huu Hung (40 years old) and his wife took their 2 young children from their home in Hoai Duc to visit Hanoi Zoo.
Mr. Hung said that this morning there was rain, his family planned to postpone going to the zoo and would go at a more favorable time. However, because his two young children were struggling to leave, Mr. Hung and his wife had to follow their children.
"Although traveling is a bit difficult, children really like to visit here" - Mr. Hung said and said that in addition to Hanoi Zoo, he will take children to visit a few more places on the second day of the holiday such as AEON Mall Ha Dong Shopping Center, Vietnam Military History Museum...


According to records, many families have traveled hundreds of kilometers from Central provinces such as Nghe An, Ha Tinh... to visit the capital during the April 30 - May 1 holiday this year.
Coming to Hanoi from the afternoon of April 30, Ms. Le Thi Khuyen (from Nam Dan, Nghe An) said that her children were very excited to set foot in the capital for the first time.
From early in the morning, the couple and their two children visited Uncle Ho's Mausoleum. After that, the whole family moved to Hanoi Zoo to visit.
"Every time I go out far away, it is a difficult time, so even though the weather was not favorable on the morning of May 1, my family happily took a trip in the rain to go to the zoo and some famous tourist attractions in Hanoi" - Ms. Khuyen said.



According to records, until more than 10am on May 1, despite the rain, many families still flocked to Thu Le Park to visit and have fun. Children were excited to see many animals in the green area of the zoo.
Hanoi Zoo is open throughout the holiday from 8-18am every day. The entrance fee for adults is 50,000 VND/person and for children is 30,000 VND/person.



According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, today - the second day of the holiday on April 30 - May 1, due to the influence of additional cold air, the North and North Central regions will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain, with rainfall of 20 - 40mm, locally over 80mm.
The Hanoi area will have moderate rain, some places will have heavy rain to very heavy rain. Warning in the next 3-6 hours, the inner city of Hanoi and neighboring areas will continue to have heavy rain with common rainfall ranging from 30 - 60mm, some places over 90mm.
This rain is likely to cause flooding for many streets with common depths of 20 - 40cm; some streets are likely to be flooded deeper with a depth of 40 - 60cm.
The meteorological agency noted that during this rain, the streets were only flooded during heavy rain and were soon drained after the rain ended 30 - 60 minutes. Traffic on deeply flooded streets will be affected, locally congested or many vehicles will have difficulty moving.
