Hanoi - An Phu Commune is one of the localities of My Duc district that is looking for ways to exploit the potential for community tourism development.

70km from the center of Hanoi, An Phu is a mountainous ethnic commune located in the southwest of My Duc district. An Phu is a semi-mountainous area of My Duc district, with about 70% of households being ethnic minority households living in 13 villages, mainly Muong people and some other ethnic minorities.

According to the representative of the People's Committee of An Phu commune, this mountainous commune still maintains the traditional village festival quite regularly, with rituals and ceremonies such as the procession, sacrifices, ceremonies and organizing folk games such as throwing con, walking on stilts, and cultural activities such as antiphonal singing, love duet singing, etc.

In addition, local cuisine has typical rustic dishes of the Muong people such as boiled grilled meat, pickled pork, sour bamboo shoots cooked with chicken... These are all rustic dishes of the Muong people in a mountainous commune of Hanoi, but have the typical flavor of Northwest cuisine.

Despite possessing unique cultural identities, An Phu is still a relatively unfamiliar name on the Hanoi tourism map. Therefore, to assess the attractiveness of tourism resources and the potential for tourism development of this locality, the Hanoi Department of Tourism issued a Plan to implement the construction of a community tourism model associated with the practical experience of traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities in An Phu commune, My Duc district.

The purpose of the plan is to diversify Hanoi's tourism products and types, create unique tourism products for My Duc district in particular and Hanoi capital in general to promote tourist attraction. From there, create a model of community tourism associated with the actual experience of traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities in My Duc district.

The plan aims to develop the socio-economic situation of ethnic minority and mountainous areas to ensure sustainability on the basis of developing tourism activities based on the potential and advantages of the region and the self-reliance of ethnic minorities; Implement the policy of developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector.

It is expected that two surveys will be conducted, with the participation of representatives of management agencies, tourism experts, and travel businesses.

Thereby, collecting opinions on selecting a village, hamlet or village to build a community tourism model; completing conditions on tourism technical facilities, services for tourists, landscape space, environment... before organizing the announcement to put into operation to welcome tourists.
