Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Thi - Permanent Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee emphasized the rich potential of Thanh Hoa tourism, from natural resources to cultural heritage.
In 2023, Thanh Hoa province welcomed nearly 12.5 million visitors, ranking 4th in the country; in 2024, it reached more than 15.3 million visitors, ranking 5th. However, the number of international visitors to Thanh Hoa is still modest, accounting for less than 5%.
In that reality, welcoming a group of Taiwanese (Chinese) tourism businesses to survey and learn is an opportunity for Thanh Hoa to improve its services and design appropriate tours to attract tourists from this market in particular and internationally in general.
Thanh Hoa province is committed to creating favorable conditions for Taiwanese (Chinese) enterprises to access the market, learn about investment opportunities and develop high-quality tourism products. At the same time, it is recommended that relevant departments and branches urgently develop a specific action plan, maintain sustainable cooperation connections with Taiwanese (Chinese) enterprises.
At the conference, Thanh Hoa province introduced key products such as: Sam Son sea tourism, Ben En National Park, Pu Luong Community Eco-tourism Area, Lam Kinh Special National Historical Site, Thanh Nha Ho World Cultural Heritage... Taiwanese (Chinese) enterprises expressed their impression of nature, cultural depth and potential for developing green and experiential tourism.
At the conference, many opinions proposed cooperation in promoting destinations, exchanging visitors, building tours combined with heritage exploration, high-end resorts in line with the trend of Taiwan (China) tourism.
Within the framework of the event, the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation, opening up prospects to make Thanh Hoa an attractive destination in the region.
