See you at work tomorrow!" (tentative translation: See you at work tomorrow) is tvN's new project, adapted from a webtoon (website story) with more than 200 million views.
The film revolves around office workers facing work pressure, exhaustion and personal life upheavals. The work combines emotional elements, humor and familiar stories in the workplace.
Seo In Guk plays Kang Si Woo - Team Leader at Saeum Electronics. He is a person who always values principles, efficiency and logic in work to the point of being called a "three-no person" by colleagues: no laughing, no social interaction and never apologizing.
The actor said that this character makes him want to challenge himself with a different type of role.
The intense emotions in action movies are very difficult to express, but everyday conversations and subtle reactions are also no less difficult. Kang Si Woo is a person who always controls everything and tries to plan his life. I really want to transform into such a character.
Director Cho Eun Sol revealed that right from reading the webtoon, she thought of Seo In Guk for this role.
According to the female director, Kang Si Woo is a quiet character, so he needs an actor who can convey emotions with his eyes and very small changes in expressions. "I can't imagine anyone else besides Seo In Guk for this role. He has completely become Kang Si Woo" - the director commented.
Co-starring with Seo In Guk is Park Ji Hyun as Cha Ji Yoon - a veteran employee who is in a state of exhaustion after many years of work. The actress said that she sympathizes with the character because Ji Yoon is a person who always tries to pursue goals despite constantly encountering failures.
Work and love are both important things in life, but also the biggest challenges. I think many viewers will see themselves in Ji Yoon's story" - Park Ji Hyun said.
Director Cho Eun Sol also praised the actress and believes that the most attractive point of the film lies in its authenticity.
According to the female director, office audiences will easily find empathy when watching the journey of maturity in both work and love of the characters. Director Cho expects the film to achieve good viewership ratings, continuing the success of "Chef Legend".
See you at work tomorrow!" will air from June 22.
