Following "Quoc sac phuong hoa", "Cam tu phuong hoa" will air with many new details about the story of Ha Duy Phuong (Duong Tu) and Tuong Truong Duong (Ly Hien). Contrary to expectations, the film had a poor performance, far behind the historical work aired at the same time, "The Most dreamy Book".
According to fans, the failure of "Cam Tu Phuong Hoa" comes from the script and character building.
In the film, the female lead Ha Duy Phuong, played by Duong Tu, comes from a wealthy merchant family, but has to go through the incident of her family going bankrupt, getting married and then divorcing Liu Suong (Nguoi Zheming). According to normal regulations, she can hardly sympathize with the difficulties of the common class, even become strong, cold, and cruel.

However, Yang Zi's character is built too sacred and perfect. She can tolerate both her husband's wife and her opponent's daughter. When she was arrested, the female lead was willing to cover her body for her friend, and was eventually seriously injured.
Many people think that the way this character is built is too ideal, unrealistic. This made the audience unable to sympathize with Ha Duy Phuong, on the contrary, they felt uncomfortable because the " main character's praise" was too great.
The script of "Cam Tu Phuong Hoa" was criticized for being long-running, popular, not having many climaxes and interesting details, creating a turning point in the relationship between the male and female leads. The number of supporting characters increased quite a lot compared to part 1 but did not have a specific role. The audience was confused when the producer tried to make the film into 2 parts, while the film could have ended neatly in part 1.

Yang Zi's acting and appearance are also factors that discouraged the audience. The actress's face was commented to be stiff and her expressions were limited. Her crying scenes were commented as being smiling while trying to convey emotions to the audience.
Although it has reached more than half of the journey, "Cam Tu Phuong Hoa" has not had very good results. The number of views of the film's soundtrack only reached 23 million, accounting for 11% of the online film market share.
"Cam Tu Phuong Hoa" has a rating (viewership rate) of 0.2%. This is an extremely low number for a work shown at golden hours on Hunan TV, even at risk of becoming the historical drama with the lowest viewership rating in the history of this TV station.
This is not the first time Yang Zi has failed to act in a film with 2 parts. Previously, "Truong Tuong Tu" also disappointed when part 1 had explosive achievements but part 2 became a "spray bomb" on Chinese screens.
