On July 24, Hanoi National University (VNU) held a regular meeting of the Scientific and Training Council to appraise 6 projects to open a master's training program of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy. Of which, 4 are in-depth internal medicine programs and 2 are in-depth surgery programs.
The programs are built by the school in the direction of applying a combination of in-depth theory and clinical practice, meeting the training needs of important majors in the medical field.
Representing the drafting teams, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Trung, Deputy Head of the Department of Training and Student Affairs, reported on the training plans of the 6 master's programs.
These are specialized master's programs opened on the basis of two approved master's degrees in Internal Medicine and master's degrees in Surgery.
In particular, internal medicine majors include: Internal digestion; Internal medicine; Emergency resuscitation and anti-poisoning; Infection and tropical diseases;
Surgical majors include: Urinary External Medicine and gender medicine; plastic surgery, reconstruction and cosmetic surgery.
The Council unanimously approved the programs with a number of adjustments and supplements to improve the feasibility and quality of training. New master's programs will be enrolled from October 2025
Thus, from next October, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy (VNU) will train 18 master's programs and 13 inpatient doctor programs.
Currently, the scale of postgraduate admissions of VNU University of Medicine and Pharmacy is among the highest of Hanoi National University.
This is also the school with the highest proportion of postgraduate training among universities nationwide (reaching 550 postgraduate targets in 2025 compared to 720 university targets).
