In the context of increasing pressure on studying, work and relationships, the need for mental health care is being paid more attention to by society than ever before. This is also the reason why Psychology is gradually becoming a choice of many young people, not only because of its value to themselves but also because of the wide open career opportunities in the future.
Thu Hien - a candidate preparing to enter the high school graduation exam in Nghe An - said that she wants to study Psychology because she feels this major is very meaningful. It not only helps her understand her own feelings but also can support and share with others when they encounter difficulties.
I have researched and seen that job opportunities in this industry are increasing, so I am quite reassured when choosing. Especially, in the context of AI development, I see that this is an industry that is difficult to replace" - Hien said.
Speaking about the reason for pursuing the major, Tai Nam - a student of the Faculty of Psychology, University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) - said that this is a major quite close to life, not only helping him understand himself but also being able to support those around him in psychological issues.
I see that the knowledge learned can be applied immediately in daily life. Especially, in the current context, this industry opens up quite a few job opportunities in fields such as education, business or psychological counseling" - Tai Nam shared.

For many years, Psychology has always been in the group of majors with great attraction, with a large number of registered candidates and high entrance scores, attracting both men and women. This interest comes not only from career trends, but also from the increasingly clear need to understand and care for mental health in society.

Graduates in Psychology have the opportunity to take on job positions such as: Human resource organization psychologist; Research assistant; Teaching in the field of psychology; School counseling; Life skills teachers; Career counseling; Intervention specialists at centers for special children (autism, learning disorders,... ). Bachelors in Psychology can also do other jobs such as directing hotlines to support psychological first aid, working in mental health support projects...
Currently, there are many higher education institutions training in Psychology such as: University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi); Hanoi Medical University; Ho Chi Minh City University of Education; Vietnam Women's Academy... The benchmark score for this major ranges from 22 - 29 points, depending on the institution.
