This is the first exam in which candidates will take part in the old 2006 and new (2018). For candidates taking the 2018 General Education Program, they will take 2 elective subjects out of the remaining 9 subjects studied in grade 12, including: Foreign Language, History, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Economic & Legal Education, Information Technology, Technology.
The Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) arranges candidates to stay in one room for the entire exam, although the subjects of choice are different. Therefore, an optional subject can be taken in both time frames. For example, in class 1, candidates choose Ly subject, taking the exam at the first time (from 7:45 to 8:35). Department 2 also has candidates taking the Physics exam, but in the second time frame (8:40 - 9:30).
In an exam room, candidates can take 5 subjects at the same time. Candidates sit fixed in the same exam room for all three exams, not having to move like previous years. With this new regulation, candidates do not have disruption to the exam room. Sitting in a fixed exam room for 3 exam sessions also helps candidates feel more comfortable.
To ensure exam security, each optional subject will have 48 test codes, divided equally into two time frames. Candidates in the first round will be given the test code from 1 to 24, the second round will have the test code from 25 to 48. In previous years, the exam questions for all subjects had 24 codes (except for the Literature exam).
The Ministry of Education and Training also requires taking questions according to the exam room, not collecting questions by subject as in previous years.
In the natural subject group, Physics has more than 354,200 registered candidates, Chemistry has 246,700 candidates, Biology has more than 72,600 students.
English is also a subject of choice for many students with 358,870 registered candidates.
Subjects that first appeared in the high school graduation exam such as IT and Technology (agriculture, Industry) had few candidates registering, about 2,400 - 21,900 candidates participating in the exam.
Also this morning, more than 26,700 candidates will take the old program (2001) with the Natural Science or Social Science exam, in the afternoon they will continue to take the Foreign Language exam.
Previously, on June 26, the candidates completed the Literature and Math exam.
The Literature exam is evaluated by many teachers to ensure the development orientation of qualities and abilities of the 2018 General Education Program and achieve a high level of differentiation. The exam is also "breathful with life, relevant".

For Math, many students and teachers commented that the exam is highly differentiated, and the expected high school score is around 6.6 - 7 points.
According to the plan, the 2025 high school graduation exam scores will be announced on July 16. Students started to register and adjust their university admission wishes from July 16 to 28.
The 2025 high school graduation exam took place on June 26-27 with more than 1.16 million candidates, an increase of nearly 100,000 compared to last year. This year's exam has students studying under two programs: GDPT 2018 and GDPT 2006. Each program has a different number of subjects and exam questions, of which nearly 1.14 million candidates take the new program, accounting for 97.71% of the total number of candidates registered to take the exam.
