The Department of Education and Training of Nghe An province has just issued document No. 916 guiding the enrollment of primary and secondary school classes for the 2025-2026 school year. In particular, many new points on direct admission, adding priority points and incentives for students taking the 10th grade entrance exam have been applied.
Accordingly, there are 5 groups of subjects admitted directly to grade 10 high school, including: Students of ethnic boarding schools; students from 16 ethnic groups with very few people; students with learning disabilities; secondary school students who won national prizes in cultural, artistic, sports and scientific research competitions; students who won prizes in international competitions selected by the Ministry of Education and Training.
These students are directly admitted to high schools in districts, cities and towns where they study in secondary schools.
In addition, this year, students who are children of martyrs, children of war invalids, sick soldiers, people affected by toxic chemicals or children of armed forces heroes will be given 1.5 to 2 priority points.
Students who are ethnic minorities, or have a father or mother who is an ethnic minority, or are living in an area with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions will also receive an additional point.
Increase the motivation for secondary school students to win prizes at provincial competitions organized or jointly organized by the Department of Education and Training. Specifically: the First prize is awarded 1.5 points; the Second prize is awarded 1 point and the Third prize is awarded 0.5 points.
The bonus points are converted to a scale of 10 and added to the total admission score. In case students win 2 prizes or more, only the highest prize's bonus point will be calculated. If students have both priority points and incentive points, both will be added.
Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung - Head of the Secondary Education Department, Nghe An Department of Education and Training - said that this is the first year that students taking the 10th grade entrance exam have been given additional encouragement points based on the results of excellent student exams and provincial-level competitions. This policy is implemented according to Circular 30/2024/TT-BGDDT, to encourage and recognize the efforts of students, teachers and schools in discovering and nurturing excellent students.
In the 2024 - 2025 school year, the whole province has 1,289 grade 9 students registered to compete in the provincial-level excellent student exam. As a result, 45 students won the First Prize, 365 students won the Second Prize, 222 students won the Third Prize and 276 students won the Encouragement Prize.
