Over the past 5 years, many families of workers in Cai Lan Industrial Park have felt more secure with the company because behind them there is Bai Chay Kindergarten - where they can send their children from early morning to late at night.
Mr. Dinh Gia Dieu - born in 1986, from Thai Binh - has been a worker at Quang Ninh Port Joint Stock Company since 2009. After getting married in 2018, he now has 2 children sent to school. Having been with the school for 5 years, he said: "This school is less than 1km from where I work. Tuition payment time at the school is very flexible depending on each parent's salary payment time. For example, my husband and I receive salary on the 20th of every month, and on the 21st I pay school tuition. Working in the industrial park sometimes involves working overtime, working overtime and not being able to pick up children according to regulations. The school is also flexible in allowing parents to drop off their children as early as 6:00 a.m. and return them as late as 6:00 p.m. every day, so I feel very at peace. dedicated to work, every year I am an excellent worker and receive a certificate of merit from the company."
For Mr. Sung A No, 30 years old, Bai Chay Kindergarten is a second home for him and his wife, helping their children have a better educational environment. He confided: “Both my husband and I are Mong ethnic people from Son La. I am currently working at Calofic Vegetable Oil Company. When I first came to work here, my child was only 2 years old, now he is over 3 years old. The couple's salary is now about 16 million VND/month, house rent and electricity and water are about 1.5 million VND. Sending my child here, not only can we reduce costs, but the teachers at the school also teach my child to speak Vietnamese and read. We are very happy and will stay here for a long time."
A fulcrum for workers
Cai Lan Industrial Park and surrounding areas currently have over 10,000 workers, mainly young workers, and the need for housing and daycare is becoming increasingly urgent.
Faced with that request, in 2017, the Confederation of Labor of Quang Ninh province reported a proposal to build a kindergarten with the General Confederation of Labor of Vietnam and the local government. The project went into operation on May 14, 2019 to the joy of workers and employees. The total investment capital of the school is 5.1 billion VND, of which the Golden Heart Charity Fund supports 2 billion VND, the remaining is financed by the Trade Union.
The school is located on a campus of more than 6,000 square meters, including a 2-story building of 1,000 square meters, with 4 classrooms, 1 function room and a garden full of outdoor toys. The school is conveniently located less than 1km from Cai Lan Industrial Park.
There are 66 children at the school, of which 15 are ethnic minority children. The school board of directors determined that this is a unique school, so they appointed teachers with many years of experience in taking care of children. To prepare for the new school year, the school has just painted, decorated and arranged a library corner and creative corner for students.
Teacher Dinh Thi Thuy - Vice Principal of Bai Chay Kindergarten - said: "Currently at Cai Lan school there are 15 ethnic minority students, so their habits and routines are different." different from the urban area. Therefore, in addition to meticulously taking care of and training the children to get used to life in the city, the teachers also teach them Vietnamese. The school's greatest joy is creating trust with parents and students, becoming a fulcrum for many workers and employees to feel secure in their work."
