On August 5, the Tax Department sent an open letter to the Vietnam Association of Accountants and Auditors and accounting and auditing companies, requesting to strengthen coordination with tax authorities to improve tax management efficiency and business awareness of law compliance.
According to the Tax Department, in recent years, accounting and auditing businesses have played an important bridge role between tax authorities and the business community, contributing to improving the transparency of financial information, awareness of tax law compliance and promoting the sustainable development of the economy.
Currently, the Tax sector is strengthening comprehensive tax management measures to improve management effectiveness and efficiency and create a fair and healthy business environment. Through review and analysis of data, tax authorities said that there is still a part of businesses that declare prolonged losses, show signs of transfer pricing, report thin profits or have significantly lower profit rates than the industry average, posing risks in fulfilling obligations to the state budget.
Therefore, the Tax Department requests accounting and auditing businesses to further promote the spirit of responsibility in the process of providing services; and at the same time strengthen coordination with tax authorities in propaganda, dissemination of policies, and guidance for businesses to properly implement regulations on tax declaration and payment.
According to the Tax Department, integrating tax law compliance consulting content right in the process of performing accounting and auditing services will contribute to raising the self-awareness of taxpayers, helping businesses declare and pay taxes correctly, fully, and promptly and limiting tax risks.
The Tax Department expressed its belief that with professional capacity and sense of responsibility, accounting and auditing businesses will continue to accompany tax authorities in building a culture of compliance with tax laws, towards a transparent, fair and sustainable financial and tax system.
