Participating in the export announcement ceremony were 7 fresh banana import-export enterprises with a quantity of 11 containers (about 220 tons of old South American bananas) exported to the markets of Japan, Korea, and China.
Dong Nai currently has 20,974 hectares of bananas, with an output of over 900,000 tons/year, an average yield of about 55 tons/ha; of which about 80% serves exports.
Bananas are grown mainly in localities such as Bau Ham, Gia Kiem, Thanh Son, Phu Vinh... and are mainly exported to markets in China, Korea, Japan, Malaysia, of which China is the main market.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang - Vice Chairwoman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee said: Dong Nai is not only one of the dynamically developing industrial localities, but also a land rich in agricultural potential, natural resources and ecological environment, with more than 1 million hectares of agricultural land; favorable natural conditions, favorable weather and climate, the province has many key products with large area scale in the top of the country with nearly 288,000 hectares of rubber, more than 175,000 hectares of cashew, more than 20,000 hectares of bananas, nearly 25,000 hectares of durian... ; agricultural products with brands associated with geographical indications such as: Tan Trieu grapefruit, Binh Phuoc cashew, Long Khanh rambutan...

To date, the whole province has established 194 planting area codes and 52 packaging facilities for export. For banana trees, there are 54 planting area codes with an area of 7,250 ha, creating a solid premise for Dong Nai agricultural products to reach international level.
However, according to Ms. Hoang, the production scale is still small-scale, the application of post-harvest processing and preservation technology is not strong, and the consumption market is sometimes unstable.
To overcome this, the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee determines that developing high-tech agriculture, organic agriculture associated with processing industry and consumption markets is an important task; focusing on building a sustainable agricultural ecosystem, green economy and circular economy to protect the environment; promoting digital transformation, applying high technology in production and post-harvest preservation; planning concentrated production areas associated with brand building and market diversification.

This is the 2nd time Dong Nai has organized a banana export ceremony (the first time was held in 2023).
The banana export ceremony and promotion of agricultural exports of Dong Nai province in 2026 aims to promote fresh banana products and key agricultural products of Dong Nai province to the international market; strengthen connections between producers and export enterprises, meet the requirements of the Protocol on phytosanitary inspection for bananas exported to China and related regulations; and at the same time, gradually build local agricultural brands.
