Plan No. 232/KH-UBND dated August 5, 2024 to ensure food safety (FS) during the Mid-Autumn Festival in Hanoi in 2024; direction of the Market Management Directorate in Document No. 2166/TCQLTT-CNV dated August 2, 2024 on strengthening local management, market inspection and control, handling of counterfeit goods, goods infringing rights, ensuring FOOD SAFETY during the Mid-Autumn Festival in 2024.
The Hanoi Market Management Department has issued Plan No. 19/KH-QLTTHN dated August 6, 2024 on implementing the "Plan for market inspection and control, ensuring food safety during the Mid-Autumn Festival in Hanoi in 2024".
In particular, the Hanoi Market Management Department directed its Market Management Teams to focus on inspecting and controlling groups of products, such as cakes, ingredients for making moon cakes, children's toys, publications (textbooks), equipment, and school supplies for the new school year 2024-2025.
During the Mid-Autumn Festival 2024 (from August 6 to September 19, 2024), the Hanoi City Market Management Force inspected and handled: 120 cases, administratively fined VND 970,250 million, and handled violating goods worth VND 1,160 billion.
Temporarily detain, process and destroy/force the destruction of smuggled food products, confectionery of all kinds, and children's toys, with a total value of 1,160 billion VND. Of which, there are more than 20,000 smuggled moon cakes of all kinds, of unknown origin, and not ensuring food safety, worth 298,256 million VND.
Typically, on August 22, Market Management Team No. 11 (Hanoi Market Management Department) coordinated with Ha Dong District Police to discover a business establishment on Nguyen Van Loc Street, Mo Lao Ward (Ha Dong District) selling 1,408 moon cakes. All of the moon cakes were produced abroad, without invoices or documents proving the legal origin of the goods.
Or on August 20, Market Management Team No. 5 (Hanoi Market Management Department) inspected a business store at 338 Tran Khat Chan (Hai Ba Trung District) and discovered 2,496 imported moon cakes. At the time of inspection, the owner of the shipment could not present invoices or documents proving the legality of the goods.
To prevent smuggling, trade fraud, and the production and trade of counterfeit goods, in the coming time, the Hanoi Market Management Force will step up inspections with focus and key points. Strengthen management and combat against key goods and areas such as smuggled goods, banned goods, counterfeit goods, food safety, and e-commerce.
At the same time, continue to strengthen coordination with news agencies and press to propagate and promptly reflect the situation and results of the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the City.
