On the afternoon of August 7, at APEC Park, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City coordinated with the Department of Education and Training to organize a book-based propaganda and storytelling contest with the theme "Uncle Ho's words - The words of the young river". The Da Nang General Science Library is the unit directly implementing the implementation.
This is a meaningful activity towards the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), while contributing to arousing a passion for reading, spreading the reading culture in the community. The contest is also a healthy and useful playground for cadres and teachers at the secondary school level in the city to exchange, learn, demonstrate their talent, confidence and creativity on stage.
This year's contest attracted 47 entries from secondary schools in Da Nang City (old), with individual or collective participation. The performances were elaborately staged, full of emotions, revolving around meaningful stories about the Party, beloved Uncle Ho, heroic martyrs and noble examples in the history of the nation.
Speaking at the program, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoi An - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City - said that the contest is an opportunity to review the profound historical and humanistic values through pages of books and inspiring stories. The theme "Uncle Ho's words, the words of the river" not only honors the teachings of President Ho Chi Minh but also affirms that those teachings have become the voice of the nation, of history and the future. That is the word of patriotism, of aspiration for peace, solidarity and the will to rise up.
