The competition program of Vietnamese wushu athletes at the 2026 World Tai Chi Championships ended on April 30.
This year, Vietnamese athletes won 8 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 9 bronze medals in the events they participated in. The results helped the Vietnamese wushu team reach 3rd place in the tournament.
The champion of the entire tournament is the Hong Kong team (China) with a record of 9 gold medals, 7 silver medals, 4 bronze medals. The Chinese wushu team won second place with a record of 9 gold medals, 1 silver medal.
Coming to the 2026 World Tai Chi Championship, the Vietnamese wushu team participates with athletes Pham Nguyen Hoai Nam, Nguyen Thi Minh Tam, Nguyen Khac Le Hoang, Chu Tue Anh, Nguyen Trong Lam, Hoang Duc Duy, Nguyen Le Chi, Nguyen Thanh Van.
The tournament took place in 46 events according to competition programs for extreme performance. This is the 2nd international competition program this year of the Vietnamese wushu team.
In March this year, Vietnamese wushu had a member compete in the 2026 World Youth Championship in China and ranked 4th overall.
After the end of the 2026 World Tai Chi Championships, the athletes returned home and continued to prepare professionally to aim for some of the next international missions, including ASIAD 20.
