The race is organized in coordination between Vietnam Television (VTV), Vietnam Athletics Federation, Kien Giang Department of Culture - Sports, Lions Entertainment JSC and Vietnam Digital and Entertainment Trading Joint Stock Company - Vietcontent.
Although it was only the first time it was held, the event quickly affirmed its stature and scale, attracting a large number of professional and amateur athletes, along with thousands of domestic and international runners to participate.

The tournament not only stands out with a total prize of up to 650 million VND, but also makes a strong impression with the participation of many leading names in the Vietnamese athletics community such as Nguyen Thi Oanh, Hoang Nguyen Thanh, Nguyen Trung Cuong.
In particular, the category dedicated to domestic and international athletes in the 42km and 21km distances has increased the attractiveness of the race. However, despite attractive prizes for national records of up to 50 million VND and 25 million VND for distances of 42km and 21km, no athlete has broken the record.

It is noteworthy that not only famous athletes participated, but also famous amateur runners participated. Bui Thi Thu Ha and Luong Duc Phuoc both excellently finished first in the distances they participated in. A special event of the tournament is the "last minute" landing of record holder Hoang Nguyen Thanh, along with names such as Dan Quyet, former national player Le Van Tuan and Tan Hi. The race between these runners created drama and excitement for the audience.

Although Dan Quyet could not cause a surprise, veteran Le Van Tuan continuously competed with record holder Hoang Nguyen Thanh throughout the journey, promising to bring many exciting competitions at VTV Phu Quoc Marathon in the coming years.
