According to Spanish media, Barcelona's leadership is considering many options to strengthen the attack before the summer transfer window. One of the prominent names included in the list is Pedro Neto, a winger currently playing for Chelsea.
In the summer of last year, Marcus Rashford joined Barcelona on loan from Manchester United and quickly made his mark. The 28-year-old striker has contributed 10 goals and 13 assists in all competitions, becoming one of the stable attacking factors of the Catalan team.
According to the agreement between the two clubs, Barcelona has the right to buy Rashford outright for a fee of about 30 million euros when the season ends. However, the club's leadership is still considering carefully before making a final decision.
In that context, Pedro Neto emerged as a potential choice. Barcelona scouts are said to have given "very positive technical assessments" of the Portuguese player, especially his ability to create breakthroughs on the flanks and contribute to attacking play.
Neto joined Chelsea from Wolverhampton Wanderers in August 2024, for a fee of about 54 million pounds. Since then, he has scored 19 goals and had 15 assists in 93 appearances for the London team.
In the 2025-2026 season alone, the 25-year-old player scored 10 goals in all competitions with an expected goal score (xG) of about 6.4 and completed more than 50 successful dribbles. He is also in the group of wingers with high goals and assist contributions at Chelsea this season.
Neto's recent form has also received praise from experts. Chelsea coach Liam Rosenior once assessed: "Pedro is a player with speed, directness and the ability to make a difference in one-on-one situations. When he is in good form, he can make a very big impact on the match".
However, Neto is also facing some disciplinary troubles. He was just fined by the English Football Association and suspended for one match after reacting to the referee in the 1-2 defeat to Arsenal. In addition, UEFA also launched an investigation after this player pushed a boy picking the ball in Chelsea's 2-5 defeat to PSG.
