On the afternoon of August 7, at the Da Nang Fine Arts Museum, within the framework of the Seminar program with the theme "Innovation and improving the quality of thematic exhibition work at Fine Arts Museums in Vietnam", the thematic exhibition "The beauty of Hue's cultural heritage through the art of painting" was officially opened.
The program was organized by the Hue Fine Arts Museum in collaboration with the Da Nang Fine Arts Museum, with the participation of 4 public art museums: Vietnam Fine Arts Museum, Hue Fine Arts Museum, Da Nang Fine Arts Museum, Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Museum.
The event also aims to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of National Day on September 2 (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, Ms. Dinh Thi Hoai Trai - Director of the Hue Fine Arts Museum - emphasized: Hue - the land of the poetic ancient capital - is not only outstanding for the beauty of the Huong River, Ngu Mountain, the majestic, and mausoleum citadel, but also for its unique treasure trove of tangible and intangible cultural heritage.
"The exhibition introduces more than 150 works selected from the collection of nearly 1,500 paintings kept by the Hue Fine Arts Museum since 2020. The works come from the Hanoi Urban Art Group and Hue Sculptors, recording with sincere emotions the beauty of architecture, nature, lifestyle and people of Hue," said Ms. Trai.
In addition, the beauty of Hue's cultural heritage is also depicted, promoted and honored on the graceful ao dai through the exhibition and performance of designer Viet Bao's ao dai collection on the paintings of a number of artists.
Inspired by royal art and some works on display in the exhibition. The combination of Ao Dai with paintings not only brings material value to life but also carries invaluable spiritual value, expressing the aesthetic value of an ancient costume that has penetrated deeply into the souls of Vietnamese women in general, Hue women in particular.
"The exhibition organizers hope that the space to display the beauty of Hue Cultural Heritage through the art of Sketching and performance of Hue Ao Dai will bring emotional experiences to the Da Nang public and visitors about a colorful picture of culture, history, architecture, art, natural landscape, people... of the ancient capital of Hue," said Ms. Trai.
