On April 28 in Vancouver (Canada), the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the Korean Football Association (KFA) held a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a new phase, right before the 76th FIFA Congress.
Attending the signing ceremony, on the VFF side were Chairman Tran Quoc Tuan, Vice Chairman Tran Anh Tu and General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu. KFA representatives included Chairman Chung Mong Gyu, Vice Chairman Lee Young Soo, General Secretary Hanjin Chun and Head of International Relations Sung Ho Sin.
Previously, the two Federations signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation for the first time in 2018, creating an important foundation for bilateral relations. Strategic cooperation programs in the past time have been assessed as contributing to promoting the development of football in each country.

Based on the achieved results, VFF and KFA agreed to continue implementing cooperation contents in the new phase with a term of 4 years, and at the same time have a mechanism to extend for another 2 years.
According to the agreement, the two sides will strengthen coordination and mutual support at regional and international football forums and events; and promote human resource exchange to improve professional quality. Coaches, referees, and football officials will have the opportunity to participate in training courses, seminars, conferences and tournaments in each country.
Cooperation content also includes exchanging coaches, lecturers training coaches, media experts and football marketing; and promoting cooperation in the field of referees. The two sides create conditions for senior referees and assistant referees of AFC and FIFA to participate in officiating international matches, as well as coordinate to organize high-level referee training courses.
In addition, exchange and training activities between teams continue to be emphasized, including national teams, youth teams, women's teams and futsal. The two Federations are committed to supporting expertise, logistics and facilities when teams go to training, and at the same time creating conditions to organize quality friendly matches.
In the field of tournament organization and management, VFF and KFA will strengthen cooperation between V.League and K.League, focusing on sharing experiences in operating, organizing competitions, managing facilities and sports medicine. Officials from both sides will also participate in training programs and seminars to improve professional capacity.
The signing of the memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the new phase continues to affirm the strong cooperative relationship between VFF and KFA, and at the same time opens up more development opportunities for football in the two countries in the coming time.
